DESCRIPTION

This basic building block of a modular system is indispensable. The Hungry Robot VCA provides 2 independent, high quality VCAs. These VCAs are DC coupled which means you can patch in audio sources as well as CV sources (though its primary function is for audio). As with all Hungry Robot "Modular Boxes" the VCA can be powered with a simple 9V DC, Negative Center power supply.

 

*** DISCLAIMER: The VCA was updated in the Spring of 2021 to use a CEM3360 reissue chip. Currently, production is back and forth with the two design depending on part availability.  Added are 2 internal trimpots that adjust the overall gain for each side. Overall, features remain similar, but there are small differences in sound and response that will be noticed when side by side with the first units. The video demonstration is of the first units***

-CV Knobs: The two knobs are attenuators for the incoming CV inputs

PATCH POINTS

-IN: Patch in an Audio signal.

-CV: Patch in an envelope, LFO, or any CV source to provide voltage controlled amplification to the incoming source

-OUT: Output of VCA
